The relationship between Ithemba (previously known as Circlevest) and Atterbury dates back to 2007. Our first two projects were the development of Mapungubwe, a four-star hotel in Johannesburg CBD, previously the French bank; and the conversion of BHP Billiton’s Johannesburg office into 110 sectional-title residential units now known as Isibaya House.

After our initial engagement Ithemba went on to build a residential business focusing on providing quality affordable rental housing in the inner city. Today Ithemba is one of the leading residential providers in the Johannesburg CBD and has become a household name to tens of thousands of tenants who have called Ithemba home.

And now, 10 years after our first joint venture Ithemba and Atterbury have formed a partnership in a new and exciting focused inner-city fund called DiverCity. Louis van der Watt and his team at Atterbury bring a wealth of experience and the excellence that comes with being best in class for retail, commercial and office development in South Africa and abroad. As two diversified businesses, each an expert in our individual fields, our new DiverCity partnership aims to become the leading urban regeneration fund in South Africa. We are proud to be associated with Atterbury, we share similar values and understand the benefit of working in association and leveraging off each other’s skill sets. We are looking forward to our next chapter together immensely.
