Growing the Atterbury family always causes a certain element of excitement, especially since we consider each new member of this family a true asset, because birds of a feather flock together, as they say.

One of this family’s newest assets is Doctor Michelle Karl, a dental and cosmetic specialist who joined us in the Old East Precinct.

“Our practice was based in Menlyn Maine prior to our recent move. The Old East Precinct with its future plans is clearly becoming the new favorite in Pretoria. We are just so happy to be a part of this hub based in Hazelwood.”

“Settling in was easy,” says Michelle, referring to this move. “I can honestly say it feels like home. With the already exciting restaurants, coffee corners and retail businesses and also future developing entities, it is exciting to see how the community can enjoy the services available. Hazelwood has everything one will need.”

Asking her about being a dental & cosmetic specialist, she explains that she got her dental degree in 2005 at the University of Pretoria but she has “always had a passion to create and make something beautiful, whether it’s a room or a plate of food, and it became transparent through the work that I do that I wanted to create unique beautiful smiles”.

“From creating confident smiles comes the need to also indulge into the aesthetic industry with regards to facial beautification. Everybody deserves to be the best version of themselves. I would like to think that I can play a role in just enhancing the already beautiful features of my patients. We are in the business of selling health and confidence.”

It’s therefore obvious that Michelle loves being surrounded by beautiful smiles, beautiful objects and beautiful art.
The art on the walls of her practice at Oaktree office tell a story. “The art on the walls was done by local artists just amazing in their own craft,” she says. “The art was chosen by myself and it signifies proportion and balance, for both these areas are present in beauty and aesthetics.”

Michelle has a loyal following that includes moms and dads, toddlers and grandparents, but also some of SA’s revered artists, actors and architects, musicians, athletes and politicians. And of course we are curious about these famous characters entertaining us with their presence!

“I really love helping all my patients, young and old, famous or not. Some patients become almost like family after their smile journey. I obviously just enjoy meeting interesting people every day,” is all she is prepared to give away on this topic, giving one of her beautiful smiles.

Be sure to visit Michelle’s practice, whether you need some dental work done or simply to welcome her to the neighborhood and the Atterbury family.
