Atterbury Management Company (Pty) Ltd would like to announce a vacant position in the capacity of: Business Analyst at our Head Office in Pretoria.

This role is ideal for a structured thinker with strong analytical ability, proven process-mapping skills, and a solid understanding of both business and systems. The successful candidate will support management with ongoing process optimization, data-driven decision-making, and the evaluation and implementation of enterprise systems across the property business.

This is a hands-on, versatile role combining business analysis, systems administration, project coordination, and data insights in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment.

1. Position purpose / general responsibilities

  1. Business Process Analysis & Optimization
    • Document, analyze, and optimize business processes across leasing, facilities, finance, development, operations, and stakeholder management.
    • Conduct workshops with business units to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and system gaps.
    • Recommend practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support scalable growth.
  2. Systems & ERP Support (Administrator-Level)
    • Serve as an operational system administrator for enterprise systems including MRI PMX, PropertyInspect, and other internal platforms.
    • Maintain system configurations, user roles, workflows, validations, and master data.
    • Support business units with issue triage, enhancements, change requests, and testing of new functionality.
  3. Data & Insights Support
    • Write and maintain SQL queries to produce operational and management insights.
    • Assist with data validation, reconciliations, and monitoring the integrity of core datasets.
    • Collaborate with the Data Engineer to define data requirements and ensure that analytics needs are met.
  4. Project Coordination & Technology Evaluation
    • Play a central role in assessing new SaaS tools, workflow systems, and operational technologies.
    • Draft business cases, requirements specifications, and impact assessments.
    • Coordinate system implementation projects, manage requirements, support testing, and facilitate training.
    • Ensure clear communication between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
  5. Cross-Functional Support
    • Provide structured, insight-driven support to management through ad-hoc analysis, modelling, and reporting.
    • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of Atterbury’s systems landscape as the business scales.

2. Experience / Knowledge / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certifications in business analysis (CBAP, ECBA, or similar) or project management (Prince2, CAPM, Agile) advantageous.
  • Strong SQL skills (ability to query, join, transform, and validate data).
  • Solid understanding of ERPs and property management systems — MRI PMX or Property Central highly advantageous.
  • Experience with business process mapping tools (e.g., BPMN, Lucidchart, Miro, Visio).
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and interpreting financial/operational trends.
  • Exposure to BI tools (Looker Studio, PowerBI, Tableau, or similar) beneficial.
  • ±3 years’ experience in business analysis, operations analysis, or systems support roles.
  • Strong business acumen with exposure to accounting concepts (leases, GL structures, budgets, reconciliations, operational workflows) would be beneficial.
  • Experience in property, asset management, facilities, property finance, or ERP-driven environments would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to bridge business and technical teams.
  • Strong documentation ability — requirements, process maps, test cases, SOPs.
  • Structured, organized, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, vendors, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • High degree of professionalism is suitable for a premier property institution.
