In the ever-evolving world of work, the office is making a comeback. As the trend of returning to office life takes hold, companies are rethinking their spaces to better suit the needs of their employees and businesses. At Atterbury, we are at the forefront of this shift, offering custom-built office environments that are more than just a place to work—they are spaces where businesses can thrive.
Recently, we were proud to sign deals with the BetterHome Group and Chrome Traders, two industry leaders in South Africa. These companies recognized the value of having office spaces that are not only functional but also conducive to productivity and collaboration. Atterbury’s expertise in creating tailor-made solutions ensures that these new offices will be perfectly suited to their needs.
This 3,902m² office space is strategically located in one of Atterbury’s flagship precincts, The Old East Precinct in Pretoria on the corner of Hazelwood and Dely Roads, offering a perfect blend of accessibility and a vibrant work environment.
One of the standout features of this development is the edition of the renowned skincare brand pH Formula, which adds a unique touch to the office environment. Additionally, the development, named Bendehuis, carries a piece of local history. The name comes from a heartwarming story about a group of young girls who used to cycle in the area and made this house their bendehuis/clubhouse, the perfect gathering spot on their ride.
By preserving a portion of the old historic structure, Atterbury ensures that while we innovate and develop, we also respect and maintain the cultural heritage of the locations we develop in.
What sets Atterbury apart is our collaborative approach to development. Our Property Development department is involved in every step of the process, from land acquisition to the occupation of completed buildings. We don’t just build offices; we work hand-in-hand with our tenants to ensure that the spaces we create are tailored to their unique requirements. This includes involving them in the design and layout process to optimize efficiency and ensure that the space supports their operational needs.
“At Atterbury, we believe that the office should be a space that reflects the culture and values of the company while providing an environment that employees want to be in,” says Derrick, Head of Property Development. “By engaging our tenants throughout the development process, we create spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functionally efficient. This hands-on approach ensures that the final product is a perfect fit for our clients’ needs.”
But what does it take to create a custom-built workspace? “It starts with understanding the unique needs of each business. Our approach is collaborative, working closely with our clients to ensure that every aspect of the space is tailored to their specific requirements. Whether it’s a need for flexible working areas, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, or spaces that promote wellness and sustainability, Atterbury is committed to delivering solutions that exceed expectations.” Concludes Ruan van Rooyen Development Manager heading up the project.
As the world moves forward, so too must our work environments. The return to the office doesn’t mean going back to the old way of doing things. It means creating new spaces that are better suited to the way we work today. At Atterbury, we are excited to be a part of this transformation, helping businesses create the offices of the future.
