Solet Viviers, Leasing Manager: Commercial and Industrial shares some insight on her experience in the property sector as part of our series on exceptional women Atterbury Property is privileged to call part of the team:

How did you get involved with the property industry?
After completing my studies, I joined the SPAR Group in 2004, where I completed numerous property courses through SAPOA and The Graduate School of Business. As part of the New Business team I was responsible for securing new SPAR stores within existing and new property developments. This is where I was introduced to Atterbury.

What do you like most about working in the property sector?
The property sector is a dynamic, exciting and creative environment. There are many links in a chain that have to work together to develop a new building on what was previously a bare portion of land, and for the asset to be strategically managed to maximum value. Being part of this chain is extremely rewarding.

I am specifically passionate about new developments and leasing within the office and industrial segments of the market. Each deal is a journey that starts off with a meeting with a potential tenant and results in a beautiful building which I am proud to have been part of.

What advice would you give women who want to get into the property sector as a career?
The only advice is that you have to be passionate about property!
