On the last day of women’s month, Atterbury HR manager Ronel Muller shares some interesting insights on the female workforce at Atterbury for our series on exceptional ladies at Atterbury Property.
“We are extremely proud of our female team who comprise of 46 ladies. They are a diverse bunch of talented women with no fewer than 34 tertiary qualifications and a number of professional registrations. Apart from being very well-qualified, they also boast experience and commitment with a combined total of 295 years of service. Their responsibilities extend beyond the workplace with 65% of them being married and collectively they have 59 children. And yes, they are as young as they look” says Ronel.
How did your paths cross with that of Atterbury?
After a career spanning almost 20 years at Sage SA, I decided it was time for a career change and submitted my resignation with the idea to take a break and then explore other opportunities. Two days after resigning, I was invited for an interview at Atterbury. The moment I stepped into Atterbury’s office, I hoped that this would be my new home. The vibe, culture and opportunities to innovate were exactly what I was looking for.
What is your vision for staff development at Atterbury?
HR strategy should support the vision and values of a company. At Atterbury, the staff are unconditionally proud to be part of the team, they are extremely adaptable, with a high level of trust and belief in each other. We have extremely strong personalities; motivating the teams to be solution-driven and not to accept anything less than perfection. My aim in this energetic environment is to support this team to develop the resilience that will allow them to keep on doing what they have become experts at. The aim is to ensure the optimum impact on the individual, the team and organisational performance, focusing not only on technical skills but also on soft skills.
